Mason and Garford lead Wera Alliance Racing Academy assault on Fiesta Junior Championship

The Wera Alliance Racing Academy returns to the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship in 2024 with a two-car team. Returning driver Jenson Mason makes the jump to a Mk7 Fiesta for the new term, where he will be joined by two-time Wera Tools British Kart champion, Alfie Garford, in an identical car.

2023 was a learning year for Jenson Mason as he embarked on his debut season in car racing. A top five finish in the opening round of the championship was followed up by two podiums in Knockhill and Brands Hatch, as the Cambridgeshire driver consistently scored points to finish the season in ninth overall and fifth in the Mk6 class and the Rookie Cup.

Speaking about the 2023 season, Jenson told us “I loved every second of last year! I learned so much and made good progress. I can’t wait to get back out on track this year. The Mk7 is a completely different driving style to the Mk6, and with very little pre-season testing there’s lots for me to get to grips with but I’m looking forward to the challenge”.

Speaking at the livery reveal, Jenson continued, “I’m so pleased to be able to announce that I will be competing in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship in the Mk7 class for 2024. I’m also proud to say that I will once again be supported by the Wera Alliance Academy. I’m excited to see what we can do this year.”

“The two cars look awesome in the Wera livery! They will really stand out on the grid. I am extremely grateful for the continued support of Wera Alliance Academy and Pete Osborne and can’t wait to continue working together this year”.

Alfie Garford steps up to the ultra-competitive Fiesta Junior Championship as the reigning TKM Extreme British Kart champion. It was Alfie’s second British title having followed in his father’s footsteps to win the Junior TKM crown in 2021. Alfie will also drive a Mk7 Fiesta and the 15 year old is excited for the season ahead:

“I’m super excited to announce I will be competing in the Fiesta Junior Championship for 2024 in my first full season of car racing. With the continued support from the Wera Alliance Academy, I’ll be looking to impress throughout the year.”

“The car looks really impressive now it’s liveried up with our partners. It’s starting to feel very real with Round 1 at Silverstone just a few days away. I can’t wait to be there and start working with the team and my new teammate Jenson”.

Speaking about the season ahead, Alliance Racing Team boss, Pete Osborne commented: “I’m so excited to see how Jenson & Alfie work together this season. They’re both going into year two of the Academy but having spent a year in different disciplines to each other. Jenson going to the Mk7 Fiesta from the Mk6 will be evolving and will now benefit from a team mate and Alfie who is himself progressing from karts to cars. It’s going to be really interesting to work with them and keep an eye on their progress. Jenson & Alfie are quite similar characters and have been a credit to the Academy and its partners what we’re trying to achieve, I’m really proud of both of them.”

The 2024 BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship kicks off at Silverstone this weekend and will visit some of the UK’s most famed race circuits, before returning to Silverstone for the final round in October where Jenson and Alfie will both be looking to bring home some silverware.
